Investigating the places we live, spaces we haunt, or even the structures along our paths, I explore our built environment. Wandering through city streets or the rooms in my own home watching light streak across a wall or dapple on a surface, I think about transformations of time.
The scenes are emotive, restful, or perhaps uncanny. Showing time as an imprint leaving a memory and continuing on for years of wear and quiet neglect. Time can be displayed as comfortable, the worn seat and arms of a favorite chair, or uncomfortable, a room drenched in the glow of a single light bulb.
These indications of time also display presence and meaning. Shrouded in the unknown rather than abounding in the divine, the images concentrate on light that illuminates, modifies, and influences our perceptions revealing the collective stories of our surroundings.
